File Transfer /docs

This is the directory where you will upload your html files.

Your domain name "points" at this directory.

Double click on the directory on the server.   By default these files are uploaded.

If you have frontpage extensions installed, you will see other _vti types of directories.  DO NOT  TOUCH THOSE DIRECTORIES OR FILES THAT HAVE AN _UNDERSCORE in front of them.

For this example, no frontpage extensions were installed and this is how your directory will look.

The images directory is where all your images can be neatly stored.

The stats directory is where your 24 hour stats are installed.  If they are not installed, you can have them installed for 15.00 one time fee.   You can order those simply by contacting me: stormer@stormerhosting.com  for more information.

The 404.html is the file you can edit.   This is the file your website visitors will see if they type in a wrong url off your domain name in the browser.  Neat to recapture possible lost traffic from a html page that was renamed or something.

The nameholder.html file is simply the file that displays your "Under Construction" page when you visit your site for the first time.

When you upload your files, you should name your "homepage"  index.html.

This index.html will be displayed first rather than your nameholder.html file.

The sample-feedback.htm is a feed back form that is already preconfigured to work with your formmail.pl which is located in your /cgi-bin.   You can customize this page to suite your design needs.

The Template.html is the sample working examples of your shopping cart if you have elected to have one when you signed up.

All done?   Now lets explain how to upload your files.

Click on the "File Transfer" link on the top left.

All images are from WsFTP LE and are the  copyright of www.ipswitch.com   It is hoped by going through this tutorial you will gain a love for one of the original ftp programs that came on the market and eventually purchase the WS FTP Pro software like I did.   It's totally worth the money!
